I can imagine Crystal Kay, since she did “Eyes on Me” for Distant Worlds last year. Also Jyongri, who wrote/recorded “Lullaby for You” in English and Japanese for The World Ends With You.

divine-desolation asked: FF7 is awesome, one of the best of the entire franchise, and without a doubt deserves a remake (and should have been made years ago), but with the FFX/ FFX-2 remaster/remake, what are your opinions on it, on the actual game itself, and why? FFX is in my top three favorites, along with VI and VIII. I like X-2 for what it was, and its battle system is my favorite in the series. As for the remaster bundle, it’s a 10th anniversary project and I’m not arguing with that because from a certain perspective it makes sense. As the first FF game of its console generation, X made as much of an impact on the series as IV did when FF went to the SNES, and VII when it went to the Playstation. It’s not like they’re remaking it from scratch, either. God, people still act like they are. And calling VII awesome, one of the best in the franchise and deserving of a remake are all subjective and you can think that if want to. But honestly if it were up to me I wouldn’t bother with remastering or remaking anything and just let them all be. With the decision to remaster or remake something comes the issues of what do you change, what do you leave in, and most of all dealing with an entire fanbase crying about “Why that one I hate that one why not this one this one is better” regardless of how you try to rationalize your decision. And I’d like to think we all know quite well how good the FF fanbase is with raising that last issue, good God. |

Anonymous asked: I've been thinking of it and haven't really looked at any wikis for facts, but isn't FFIX the only one to have only one version out? Practically every other title has a remake or sequel/prequel, VIII very close behind with only a PC version as a bonus and I believe that was released at the same time as the original. So... if anything after X HD, SE should consider giving VIII&IX some well deserved love. Let’s be clear here: I am quite excited for the X remaster. But if I ruled the world and vomited rainbows remasters and remakes of any kind would be illegal forever because I like to think that my nostalgia outweighs my want to play a game from my childhood in today’s graphics and why risk ruining a good thing If I ruled the world and vomited rainbows remasters and remakes of any kind would be illegal forever because I would rather have a new original game and have fun playing that than have a touched up game I already had fun playing when I was five If I ruled the world and vomited rainbows it would be better and financially practical to just release past games onto more contemporary platforms to make them more accessible because can you tell I’m 500% done with “why this game and not that game” and people coming to me like I have some sort of authority in what goes on with these decisions But of course if I ruled the world and vomited rainbows I don’t think too many people would be pleased with the direction I’d choose to take the series in. Not that very many people are pleased with it now. Clearly. |

Anonymous asked: Do you see what I see? I feel like it's fake but at the same time it looks pretty legit. What do you think? (I spaced out the link so I could put it in the ask) imgur. com/ a/HVtoY
Am I the only one who’s looking at those prices because wow if it’s true I’m in trouble because prostitution only pays so much I take everything with a grain of salt especially when it comes to things like this, so I don’t react until I hear official word. But if people want to believe it and make a fuss out of the world like they always do then that’s cool~*~*~ |

snuff-on-digital asked: How Do You Feel About The New Final Fantasy Being An MMO.? The revamp looks especially promising, even though what it is now really should have been the game that first came out two years ago. That would have saved Square Enix so much time, money and grief. Grief especially from a lot of the more vocal folk in the fanbase. I’m personally not that much into MMOs, but there are people who are and there are a lot of people who liked FFXI and are interested in XIV so I can’t say anything about that. Honestly if I had enough spending money for a subscription and could promise myself I’d play often enough to get the most out of it I would too. Lastly and this isn’t directed towards you personally, but to folk who seem to think so XIV isn’t delaying Versus one second they are both made by completely independent production departments with completely different staff I don’t understand why that’s so difficult a concept to grasp~*~*~ |

Anonymous asked: which chocobo themes are your favorite? Aloha and Ukulele (IX), Pulse (XIII), Techno (VII), Hopping (XIII-2), Brass (X) and the rental theme from XIV. |

gmo-fosho asked: What do you think about FFXIII and all the games they're doing with it? Personally, i think Square should continue with versus and the numerical order, but that's just me. I like XIII and XIII-2, and I’m looking forward to Lightning Returns. I can’t say much about LRFFXIII from a story perspective since it’s not out yet, but XIII-2 has a lot more to do with XIII than some people tend to think. At this point and with FF games coming out with such relative infrequency, any game they announce is one more I can play and hopefully enjoy. I have yet to play one that I honestly did not like or could not think of anything nice to say about. |

Anonymous asked: i read that the series sold over 100 million copies, but why do you think final fantasy games sell lower compared to other games? Lower compared to games like Halo or Call of Duty, or compared to past FFs? I’d chalk it up to the fact that JRPGs have been and still are and most likely forever will be a particularly niche genre? Seems to be truer now more than ever. I think it’s worth mentioning that no console JRPG (excluding Pokemon) this generation’s sold as well as XIII did (6.7 million between the PS3 and 360 versions I believe). I would say that’s pretty impressive technically and it broke the record for fastest selling FF in the series’ history, but as an FF it’s apparently considered abysmal despite the fact it only outsold 11 out of the 14 main numbered titles (read: everyone thought it’d outsell VII, VIII and X and when it didn’t it was considered all but a failure). For as mainstream as FF’s become strictly in terms of it’s legacy in the industry, it’s still considered a bit of an oddball by many largely because of its legacy and the general perception of its genre (the umbrella under which common criticisms like esoteric storylines, too many cutscenes, slow gameplay, big swords, belt fetishism and weird hair fall). With JRPGs (and the Japanese gaming scene in general) so far removed from Western tastes these days, I don’t see any future FF or any other console JRPG reaching the runaway sales many of its Western competitors get. /running my overly cynical mouth (That in turn leads into the fact FF’s horribly stuck between a rock and a hard place with the “FF is too stale, they need to innovate” and “FF isn’t the same, they need to go back to its roots” crowds pulling it in every which direction, but that’s a completely different conversation.) |
