Final Fantasy-related announcement for Playstation 4 at E3 2013

ign:

Today, during Sony’s massive PlayStation conference in New York City, Final Fantasy Brand Director Shinji Hashimoto announced that a new Final Fantasy would debut at E3 2013.

The announcement came suddenly following Luminous Game Engine Director Yoshihisa Hashimoto’s presentation. Although no details about this new Final Fantasy were given, Shinji Hashimoto did say his announcement was connected to the PlayStation 4 reveal, implying that the next Final Fantasy would be revealed as a PlayStation 4 game.

Unfortunately, no screenshots or video were shown following the announcement. Much more will come in a few months at this year’s E3.

Hey you tagged "Rude's crush on Tifa" as Final Fantasy IX

Sorry about that. It’s fixed now.

Screens of the HD remaster for Final Fantasy X running on the Playstation Vita, revealed by executive producer Shinji Hashimoto.

The HD remaster was announced at the 2011 Tokyo Game Show to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the game’s release in Japan. The game will have redone character models rendered in high definition, as shown above. The first major news since the initial announcement, Hashimoto attributed the long gap to Square Enix’s concentration on creating the most polished HD remaster possible.

Final Fantasy X HD will be available for Playstation Vita and Playstation 3.

If any of you all were lucky enough to get badges for yourselves, I will be seeing you at Comic Con here in San Diego this summer~

But concerning my policy with spoilers since I’ve gotten quite a few comments, I wait one year following a game’s release before posting anything that could be deemed a major spoiler, the definition of which is left to my discretion. When it comes to FF, though, I think figuring out what are considered spoilers is widely agreed upon by those who played a given game, or at least know of its plot.

That said, I now accept submissions that reveal Final Fantasy XIII-2’s ending(s) and its major plot points.

The only game in which I will not post anything directly related to major plot points or its ending despite having been released over a year ago is Final Fantasy Type-0, since apparently there are quite a few folks still holding their breaths over an English version.

Aerith is dead

Serah is too

If you won’t be my valentine

I’ll cast Ultima on you
